Brolo is in Production and we are not sharing everything
For the last several months, Kaitlyn and I have received the same question over and over again:
"Who's making the cigars?"
Followed closely by:
"What's the wrapper, binder, and filler?"
The truth is, we understand why people ask.
Cigar smokers love details. We do too.
But somewhere along the way, cigar culture started confusing information with experience.
Before a cigar is ever lit, people want the factory name, the primings, the fermentation process, the farm, the varietal, the age of the tobacco, and sometimes the blood type of the roller who made it.
There's nothing wrong with that.
But that's not how most people fall in love with cigars.
Nobody remembers the first cigar that changed their life because of a binder leaf.
They remember where they were.
Who they were with.
The conversation that lasted longer than expected.
The friend who became family.
The hard season they survived.
The celebration they didn't want to end.
The cigar was simply the bridge.
That's what Brolo has always been about.
Today, we're excited to share that our cigars are officially in production.
And while many brands lead with the factory, we've chosen a different path.
We're not hiding our factory because we're ashamed of it.
Quite the opposite.
We have immense respect for the people making our cigars.
In fact, they specifically asked us not to use their name as a marketing tool.
We respected that.
Because we didn't start Brolo to ride on someone else's reputation.
We didn't build this company on borrowed credibility.
We want our cigars to stand on their own.
If they're good, they should be good because of the experience they create….not because of a logo attached to them.
So here's what we'll share.
Porchlight
Wrapper: Ecuadorian Corojo
Confessional
Wrapper: Habano Rosado
Back Booth
Wrapper: Mexican San Andrés
That's it.
Not because the rest doesn't matter.
But because we think the average cigar smoker deserves permission to simply enjoy a cigar without feeling like they need a graduate degree in tobacco agriculture. The longer I've spent in this industry, the more I've realized something: The best cigar smokers I've met aren't always the most knowledgeable.
They're the most present.
They know how to sit still.
They know how to listen.
They know how to laugh.
They know how to make room for another person at the table.
That's the culture we're trying to build.
Will we eventually share more details?
Maybe.
Will we ever reveal the factory?
Probably not.
At least not because we think it will sell more cigars.
Brolo was never about chasing status.
It was never about coattails.
It was never about convincing you we're important.
It's about creating exceptional cigars that help create exceptional moments.
The rest is just trivia.
The cigars are rolling.
And we can't wait to put them in your hands.
Light Up & Lean In.
